STOMACH BUGS

STOMACH BUGS

Stomach bugs, often caused by viral gastroenteritis, are very common in children. The good news is that in most cases, these symptoms are short-lived and can be managed at home with prompt, supportive care and careful attention. Children most commonly pick up these viruses in places where they are in close contact with others, such as at school, daycare, playgrounds, or other social settings.

Children are more prone to stomach bugs because their immune systems are still developing, and they often explore the world through touch and taste, which increases their exposure to germs. While it’s distressing to see your child in discomfort, most stomach viruses resolve within a few days and do not require medical treatment. The key is to keep your child hydrated, help them rest, and provide gentle, easy-to-digest foods once symptoms settle.

With the right care, children typically bounce back quickly. Holistic tools like homeopathy can also play a gentle and effective role in easing symptoms and supporting recovery.
