Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae, that is highly nutritious. Spirulina is rich in a range of vitamins and minerals, including C, E and B6, essential for maintaining a child’s healthy immune system, development and growth. Research finds that spirulina also boosts the production of white blood cells and antibodies that fight viruses and bacteria in the body.
Spirulina is easy to digest, and suitable for even those children with a weak digestive system. Spirulina is highly alkaline, which helps balance the pH in the body, which is important for the body’s natural detoxification processes.
How to consume spirulina powder:
- Add 1/2 to 1 tsp of spirulina powder into your child’s green juice
- Stir vigorously until fully blended
- Drink + enjoy!
To ensure the spirulina is fully mixed into the juice, I like to add our juice and spirulina into a high speed blender. It just takes 5 seconds to fully blend.
