Inflammation is at the root of almost every ailment because it is the body’s first line of defence against harm. While acute inflammation is a necessary response to injury or infection, chronic inflammation is where problems begin. When the immune system stays in a prolonged state of activation, it leads to dysfunction across multiple systems.

Weakened Immune System
  • Chronic inflammation overworks the immune system, making it less effective at fighting real threats like viruses and bacteria when they occur.
  • This can lead to frequent infections, allergies, and development of autoimmune conditions.
Increased Risk of Allergies & Asthma
  • Inflammation can cause the immune system to overreact to harmless substances, leading to food allergies, eczema, and asthma.
  • A disregulated immune response due to inflammation can trigger excessive histamine release, worsening allergic reactions.

How to Reduce/Prevent your Child’s Inflammation
  • Nutrient-Dense Diet – Focus on whole foods including healthy fats, and anti-inflammatory nutrients – omega-3’s, vitamin D + zinc (through absorption of targeted foods or high quality supplementation).
  • Support Gut Health – Again focus on whole foods, fibre rich options, probiotic foods (or supplements), and avoid overuse of antibiotics where possible.
