CHOCOLATEY SAUCE

A three ingredient, quick, simple recipe I know your family is going to love as much as we do! This sauce can be used on top of any dessert, we add it to our homemade ‘nice cream’s, crepes, pancakes and its’s heavenly with fresh fruit. This sauce can be served warm or cold. To make this sauce as nutritious as it can be use 100% maple syrup where possible (buy those without added sweeteners or colourings), opt for 100% cacao powder or easy to find store brought natural unsweetened cocoa powder, next choose a good quality non-dairy mylk. Your rich chocolatey sauce will last for up to 7 days in a sealed airtight container (glass jar are nice) in the fridge.

Ingredients
  • Cacao or Cocoa Powder 1/2 cup
  • 100% Maple Syrup 3/4 cup
  • Non Dairy Mylk 3/4 cup (almond, coconut or oat works best)

EQUIPMENT – MEDIUM SIZED SAUCEPAN + WHISK

Instructions
  1. Pour the maple syrup and water into a medium pan.
  2. Bring heat up to high, bringing the mixture to a boil.
  3. Stir or whisk vigorously as you do this.
  4. Reduce heat to simmer.
  5. Add in cacao/cocoa powder, keep stirring/whisking.
  6. Cook mixture for up to 8-10 mins, stir often
  7. The sauce will begin to thicken.
  8. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  9. Serve!
